From Beverage Seller to Hiking Guide on Mount Batur

At the base of Mount Batur, life is full of challenges and opportunities. I began my journey as a roaming beverage seller along the hiking trails of Mount Batur. Every day, I carried various cold and hot drinks, as well as snacks for the hikers. This job not only provided me with an income but also gave me the chance to interact with a wide array of people from different countries and cultures.

The more I interacted with tourists, the more I became interested in the tourism industry. Therefore, I decided to pursue further education in tourism. In college, I learned a great deal about tourism management, culture, and foreign languages. This education broadened my understanding of how the tourism industry can be developed and managed effectively.

After completing my studies, I had the opportunity to undergo training in Malaysia. There, I learned about customer service, tour management, and various other aspects of the tourism industry. This experience was invaluable, providing me with deeper knowledge and skills in the field of tourism.

Upon returning to Indonesia, I decided to work as a travel driver. This job allowed me to explore various places in Bali and its surroundings. I met many tourists and learned more about their needs and expectations. This experience enhanced my communication skills and my ability to provide excellent service to tourists.

However, my love for Mount Batur never faded. I decided to return there, but this time as a hiking guide. Becoming a hiking guide on Mount Batur has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. I get to share my knowledge about the mountain, local culture, and provide unforgettable experiences for the hikers. Each hike is a new adventure, and I am proud to be part of their journey.
